MEDITATION CLASSES IN THE CENTER OF BELGRADE

“Clear your mind, open your heart – meditate!”

Join us for guided meditation sessions in the center of Belgrade, near the Botanical Garden. Our experienced teachers will guide you through easy physical exercises, breathing practices (pranayama), and concentration techniques which will help you calm the restless mind and heart in order to uncover your inner source of peace and wisdom.


The meditation technique we will practice comes from the ancient technique of kriya yoga and was spread in the west by the great yogi Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic “Autobiography of a Yogi” (read the book online for free).



What is meditation?

Meditation is the natural state of our being that is uncovered when we still the mind. During meditation we achieve true relaxation – deeper and more fulfilling than when we sleep. This is because unlike sleep, meditation is a state of deep awareness. In this awareness, we become conscious of the innermost qualities of our being - peace, joy, wisdom, love – qualities that do not depend on outer circumstances.

Meditation is a state of intense awareness achieved by stilling and concentrating the thoughts. It is a journey to the center of our own being, a process so perfectly natural that we don’t have to learn how to meditate. Rather, we have to unlearn those habits and attitudes that keep us from experiencing our natural state of expanded awareness. (Lessons in Meditation by Jyotish Novak)

What are the benefits of meditation?

Meditation benefits all aspects of our being: physical, emotional/mental, and spiritual.

Physical benefits: decreased tension, lowered blood pressure, increased circulation and healing, strengthened immunity, chronic pain reduction, stress hormone regulation.

Emotional/mental benefits: decreased stress/anxiety, better concentration, improved emotional balance and resilience, increased problem-solving skills, cultivation of a positive mindset.

Spiritual benefits: increased intuition, growing sense of spiritual connection with higher realities, feeling of inner peace and joy, increased feeling of universal connection and compassion, pathway to self-realization.

In short, there is no aspect of life that cannot be supported and improved by meditation!

What do I need for meditation?

Dress in comfortable clothing, that allows you to expand your lungs and stomach. This is essential for deep breathing and relaxation.


You don’t need to bring anything else.

Must I sit on the floor?

No. The only criterion of good meditation posture is a straight spine. Meditation can be done on the floor, in a chair or on a special meditation bench.


In our center, we have mats, chairs, cushions, and blankets – everything you might need to make yourself comfortable during meditation.

Do I need any previous experience?

No previous experience is necessary. Your teacher will guide you through all the practices. 

When do classes start?

Our Meditation classes start on 17th October 2024 and will take place every Thursday from 6 to 7 pm. 


Each class is self-contained and does not follow from the previous one so you can join us whenever it suits you. 

What is the price of classes ?

A single class costs 1000 dinars.


Four classes cost 3500 dinars. 

Your meditation guide

Mukti (Hana Božanin) discovered meditation as a powerful tool for “right living” in 2002. Since then, she has devoted her life to sharing the transformative joy of meditation and the timeless teachings of Self-realization and Raja Yoga. Raised in a diverse, mixed-nationality family—with a Serbian father and British mother—Mukti is fluent in both Serbian and English, allowing her to reach a broad audience.

Her professional journey has spanned teaching English to children, working as a translator, interpreter, and copyeditor, all of which have refined her ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. In 2007, alongside her husband Narayan, Mukti began leading the Ananda Sangha Serbia center, where they continue to guide spiritual seekers on the path of inner peace.


With over two decades of personal meditation practice and teaching experience, Mukti will gently and skillfully guide you towards uncovering the inner strength, peace, and wisdom that meditation brings. Whether you are new to meditation or deepening your practice, Mukti’s approach ensures a nurturing environment where you can explore the transformative power of meditation and higher awareness.
